Mechanical Hygiene is a three-step process of inspection, documentation and remediation. The purpose is to ensure proper operation of the air conveyance systems and the comfort level of the building occupants.

For years, Air Duct Services has provided its many clients with a state-of-the-art remediation process to ensure complete mechanical hygiene throughout their air conveyance systems. The terms "duct cleaning," "mechanical hygiene," and "remediation" all refer to the cleaning (or state of cleanliness) of various heating and cooling components in forced air systems such as the supply and return ducts, registers, grilles, diffusers, air handling units, plenums, heating/cooling coils, condensate drain pans, fan motors, and housings. To ensure that your building's air conveyance systems are clean and operating at full capacity, we utilize a method of complete source removal and perform all work in accordance with NADCA Standard ACR 2002 and the related ASHRAE Standard.

We perform a thorough video inspection of representative surfaces in the air conveyance system with a fiber optic borescope camera—a small, versatile device that lets us view areas that would be completely inaccessible by other means. We then scrutinize the inspection tape to identify areas of concern and potential sources of contamination within the system. The client receives a follow-up report supplemented with photographic evidence.
